Jesus went everywhere preaching the Good News of The Kingdom of God. He taught in parables about The Kingdom of God. He sent out the apostles and several other men, commanding them to preach The Kingdom of God. Why? What is this Kingdom?‍

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then shall the end come.

What is it? Why do we need it? What will it be like? Does it matter today?

The Kingdom of God is the Government and Family of God.

This government and family of God will be established on earth to overthrow the world's nations at Jesus Christ's return. The first 1,000 years of this rule is the Millennium.

Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

The prophet Daniel also introduces us to this Kingdom of God which will never be destroyed.

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

This is a big deal.

THE WORLD IS A MESS!

The Kingdom of God will finally accomplish what mankind has never been able to do for themselves: Jesus Christ will dynamically intervene to introduce true, everlasting peace - an actual utopia on earth.

We’ll also witness the expansion of God’s Family. Everyone will have the opportunity to grow, overcome, and ultimately become eternal children of God.

Revelation 21:6-7 [...] He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
Revelation 7:15-17 [...] And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. 16 They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

Satan’s reign ends.

Satan, the catalyst for so much pain and suffering, will be imprisoned during the first 1000 years of God’s Kingdom (the Millennium). He will no longer manipulate the thoughts and actions of this world.

God’s Reign Begins.

God will introduce Himself as the One True God and reveal the knowledge of His perfect law. Then, as mankind yields to His way of love, the world will finally understand how to achieve peace.

Ezekiel 36:23-24 And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord,” says the Lord God, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. 24 For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.
Isaiah 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

The Kingdom will be founded on God’s Law.

As Christ sets up His new home on earth, He’ll teach all mankind not just a better way of life, but the only way to live.

Isaiah 2:2-3 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

God gives us power through His Holy Spirit to overcome our human nature.

Ezekiel 36:27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

Christ won’t rule alone.

Not only is Christ going to rule during the Millennium (the first 1,000 years), but those who are called, chosen, and faithful to God’s laws and ways in this physical life are going to inherit the Kingdom with Him!

The New Testament tells us they will be co-heirs with Christ who will rule with Him.

Revelation 20:4- And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

The Millennium is just the beginning of God’s Kingdom on Earth. Will you be there?
